Here is a look at the top five comedians to be excited about right now.

They say laughter is the best medicine. 

Well, when it comes to comedians, none get any funnier than people making it their passion to create humour for everyone to laugh.

After looking at what's currently out there on NetflixAmazon Prime, and other streaming services, Darren Maule has come up with his top five comedians to look out for in 2022:

1. Ricky Gervais

Ricky Gervais is an English comedian, actor, director, and writer. He's best known for creating, co-writing, and acting. 

After waiting a long time for an opportunity, his first big break was forming a writing partnership with Stephen Merchant

Gervais has become one of the most popular and omnipresent comedy performers of the 21st century, hosting the Golden Globe Awards, lending his talent to films, becoming a voice artist, and appearing on numerous talk shows.

His latest comedy special is SuperNature on Netflix - and it has sparked outrage on social media.

2. Dave Chappelle

Best known for his satirical comedy sketch series, 'Chappelle's Show', after leaving the show, Chappelle returned to performing stand-up comedy across the USA.

Chappelle has appeared in many movies, including 'The Nutty Professor', 'Blue Streak', and 'A Star Is Born' just to name a few.

3. Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart is a comedian and actor who is known for his roles in 'Jumanji', 'Think Like a Man', 'Ride Along', 'Central Intelligence', and 'Get Hard', just to name a few.

Kevin has recently turned his focus to stand-up comedy skits. He has since released four more comedy shows: Seriously Funny, Laugh at My Pain, Let Me Explain, and What Now?.

4. Trevor Noah 

Trevor Noah is the most successful comedian in Africa and is the host of the Emmy Award-winning 'The Daily Show'.

It was announced earlier in the year that Noah will debut his 9th new comedy special, 'Afraid of the Dark', on February 21 on Netflix

5. Burr Bill 

Bill Burr is an American comedian. Bill developed a comedic style of uninformed logic that has made him a regular with other comedians Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel.

This comes after he had a two-year season on 'Chappelle's Show'. Bill can be seen in the films like 'The Front Runner', 'Black or White', and 'Date Night', just to name a few.
