Darrius' story is a true inspiration for all and shows that nothing should stop anyone from achieving their dreams. At 18 months, he had his legs amputated in order to walk.

"I want to be somebody's motivation, I knew I wanted to play the piano at a young age, even though it would be difficult, I was determined to make it work," he said.

Darrius said even though it was difficult to take piano lessons, he never got discouraged but persevered and eventually became an expert.

One of his compositions called 'Dreams Are Forever' went viral on social media. He continues to receive unwavering support from his family, teachers and peers.

The highlight of his achievement was when he was invited to play at the prestigious Carnegie Hall with one of his favourite pianist and composers, Yiruma. He received a standing ovation after his performance.

"It was one the best experiences of my life," he said.

His motto is the driving force behind his success.

"I chose to focus on the positive instead of the negative, and eventually the positive overcame the negative," said Darrius.
