We're never short of news in South Africa, something bizzare always happens in a blink of an eye.

2015 has been quite a year with a lot of international coverage from a number of scandals and political issues happening in Mzansi.

Here are my News Top 5 highlights of the year :

1. Oscar finally guilty of Murder. Who doesn't now have Oscar fatigue and who among us, outside of his close family, believe that finally justice has been served?

Will Oscar Pistorius be embraced as a national hero again?
2. Space got smaller. We got our first hi-resolution pictures of our farthest planet - Pluto, and we landed a laboratory on a flying comet and found the god-particle which confirms that 95% of the mass of the universe is invisible.

3. We got awarded the Commonwealth Games. We were the only ones to bid and I am bleak that cycling isn't one of the sports. For Durban?!!

4. The King's speech (Goodwill) had us erecting refugee camps in our own backyards to protect against xenophobic attacks.

5. The biggest threat to our youth and education it seemed this year were statues. Those strange and threatening statues had it too good for too long and the people Rhodes up against them.
