Dad starts #MoreThanCute Movement
Updated | By ECR Breakfast
When a frustrated dad is on the search for halloween costumes for his 2 little daughters, he makes an interesting discovery and decides to make a stand!

John Marcotte, a father of two little girls made an interesting discovery while shopping around for Halloween costumes for his daughters. He found that costumes for boys were styled as “brave, scary, smart and adventurous” – for girls, the costumes were merely described as “cute”.
Marcotte, who is the founder of Heroic Girls – an organisation that advocates for a better representation of girls and women in media and comics – furiously exclaimed that boys are given a range of costumes that tell them that they can be anything they want to be – heroic, scary or smart, and girls are merely depicted to be fragile, “cute” representations – fairies and princesses, roles that have no sense of achievement but only appearance.
The #MoreThanCute Campaign encourages parents and girls to dream big & aspire to have purpose than just being cute, even if its just a costume.
Here are some pictures parents sent in support of the campaign.
