Darren, Keri, and Sky - together with KZN, made a list of what to do and what not to do when you're hosting or are invited to a braai. KZN shared their braai experiences with the team for them to compile the Braaible.

They have considered the following:

  • A braai at Sky’s house will be a lot different to a braai at Darren’s or Keri’s house in terms of what you should bring.
  • Sky rarely does a “Bring and braai” - Everything is supplied by the host or sometimes a stokvel-type arrangement is made.
  • At Darren’s house, the host supplies the chicken and anything else should be brought by the guest.
  • At Keri’s house, it would be fine to bring chicken or maybe even vegan viennas.
  • At an Afrikaans braai, chicken is generally not allowed because the person doing the Braai usually burns the chicken because it requires too much attention
