Mom reports her own encounter at a Spur in Johannesburg, but this one is of a different and rather kind nature.
Amidst the tension of what many are calling a racist incident at a Johannesburg Spur, a mother of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl has shared her Spur restaurant encounter - and it's giving us all the feels!
Jelena Mandic posted pictures of her daughter, a little white girl, and a little black boy instantly hitting it off at Spur's playground when the little boy reached out to Emma and gave her a balloon.
“She then invited him to our table… started breaking her waffle, dipping it into her ice cream and feeding him,” Jelena told SA Breaking News.
“I even asked his mom if he can have some waffle and she said, ‘you know we had waffles on the table and he didn’t touch it’, Emma’s waffle was something out of this world!”
“They went off to the playground and he waited for her when she came down the slide… it was just beautiful,” she added.
Jelena posted the pictures on Facebook after her daughter, Emma, kept looking for the photos on her phone. Jelena hopes to find the little boy's mother. If you could help her out, please e-mail [email protected]
