Alternative route guide amid demolition of King Cetshwayo Bridge on the M13

Darren, Sky and Carmen are here to guide KZN from traffic that will take place come Saturday 14 October.

Attention all KwaZulu-Natal residents and anyone who would be traveling outside of town, Saturday might be the most busiest time to date. 

The King Cetshwayo Bridge will be demolished and as much as we don't want to cause any panic, it's important for you motorists to use different routes.

Luckily for you, the capable East Coast Breakfast team of Darren Maule, Sky Tshabalala and Carmen Reddy knew about the story and has come in to help you all out. 

They will be giving you routes and steps to ensure that you beat the traffic to avoid the road closures. 

These alternative routes will make sure you travel safely when you're in the KZN province.

Carmen read up on some steps that motorists need to consider. 

According to Sanral, these steps are what every motorist who uses the bridge whether they're out of town or local residents;  would need to consider.

Step 1 - You must consider if you really need to travel during the planned demolition

Step 2 - Make sure you identify early the direction of travel and find the direction best suited on your GPS. 

Step 3- Speaking of GPS, use it to find the best routes possible. There are many applications to choose from when considering GPS. 

Step 4 - Ensure you give yourself enough time for the trip, with potential changes of the speed limit to consider.
