9 gift ideas for your baby Mama this Mother's Day

I'm sure this one of those awkward holidays when you're not sure what to get your child's mother, especially when you've broken up.

If you have a child with a partner you are no longer in a relationship with:
A. You are not alone (in fact you are not even in the minority - this is the case with 64% of South Africans)
B. You will have to get your baby Mama a Mother's Day gift.

This could present you with an unenviable predicament. You need to get a gift for someone you don't love anymore and you need to make it something that says thanks for your contribution but we are never ever ever ever getting back together again.

So here are a few sure fire unambiguous gifts for your baby Mama this Mother's Day:

1. Get the kids to make her breakfast in bed but make sure they know that Mom likes her toast dark brown, her bacon super crispy and the eggs clear and runny.

2. Chocolates (liqueur) Everyone seems to become a little more consumable once a little social lubricant has been introduced.

3. Bath Salts: (This you can buy for an Ex) Nothing like giving the subtle message that you think they need to bath more often.

4. Buy clothes... that are one size too small (must ask her to try them on.)

5. Get her a voucher for a Gym membership.

6. Knicknacks (you can do this for up to 20 years and know that after 20 years she will have 20 useless porcelain thingys that serve no purpose but to collect dust.)

7. A cookbook (not Nigella or Jamie Oliver - more like "Cooking for beginners")

8. The best passive aggressive gift is the one that says; "I put absolutely no effort into this whatsoever" like a Manila envelope with a R200 note in inside.

9. Flowers (not roses and not red) white, yellow and blue are quite safe but here is the trick - buy them a few days before MD so they are cheaper and use a preservative to keep them alive. I hear arsenic is an excellent preservative.
