1. Ramaphosa announces stricter regulations ahead of festive season
President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced a host of further lockdown restrictions as South Africa battles to contain the rise of a second COVID-19 wave. In an address to the nation on Monday evening, Ramaphosa announced the Garden Route and the Sarah Bartmaan Districts as hotspots. There is also an adjusted curfew and a full closure of beaches on specific days in KZN and in the Nelson Mandela Bay region.

2. Ethekwini Municipality looking to purchase Funworld
The eThekwini Municipality is proposing to purchase Durban beach front attraction Funworld for R40-million to bolster the city's tourism sector. The proposal is a partnership between the city and uShaka Marine theme park. The report approved by the municipality’s executive committee (Exco) is expected to be discussed at full council on Tuesday for final approval.
3. 2023 Rygby World Cup draw confirmed
Three-time winner New Zealand will face hosts France at the 2023 Rugby World Cup after the pool stage draw was made on Monday. The Boks are set to face Ireland and Scotland in Pool B, whilst 2003 champions England will take on Japan, who hosted the last World Cup in 2019.
4. Man in custody after climbing onto airplane's wing
A man was taken into custody after he climbed onto the wing of an Alaska Airlines plane at the Las Vegas airport this weekend. The pilot noticed a person coming toward the aircraft and notified the control tower. The video shot by a passenger shows the man sitting and walking on the wing.
