It's International Self-Care Day, a reminder to many of us about the importance of self-care in our daily routine.

Self-care comes with heaps of rewards if you do it consistently. However, most people live such busy lives that self-care takes a backseat. Taking time out for yourself benefits your mental and physical well-being in more ways than we realise.

Today, as we celebrate International Self-Care Day, we want to remind you that self-care is for everyone—not just the wealthy and successful, but everyday people.

Self-care does not equate to selfish; it is the complete opposite. It's about caring for yourself because only you can take care of yourself best.

So, what exactly is self-care? Forbes describes it as: "Physical or psychological activities that recharge your batteries and restore your mental and physical well-being."

Gaia CEO Kiersten Medvedich says: "International Self-Care Day reminds us that even small acts—like meditation, deep breathing, or unplugging—can help us reconnect with ourselves. It’s how we stay grounded and present, which allows us to hear our intuition more clearly."

By practising self-care, you are essentially helping everyone else by taking care of yourself.

When you help yourself, you create more positivity around you, which in turn helps those you encounter. That makes the world more compassionate.

What will you do today to prioritise yourself?
