Seeing the lighter side of President Cyril Ramaphosa is everything to us. It shows another side to his authority and makes him seem more connected with our nation.
We know him to be jovial and always smiling. This time, our dearest Cupcake has won the hearts of even more people by displaying a simple yet impactful caring act.
During his recent visit to Cape Town, we saw people excitedly gather to take a picture with Ramaphosa. Standing outside the Swarovski store at Canal Walk Shopping Centre, the president happily posed for pics with several children at the mall.
The onlookers laughed and smiled at watching him embrace these youngsters, and then something happened. This moment made many South Africans realise that, as much as Ramaphosa is our leader, he is another 'father figure' to our nation.
The President greeted a young girl who came to take a picture with him, then, as he leaned in to hear her speak, he noticed that her shoelace was untied. Without hesitation, Ramaphosa knelt and tied her lace for her.
