KZN reacts to controversial Maritzburg College pictures
Updated | By Damon Beard
'Would you be proud of your child fighting for a cause?'. This was the question posed on Tuesday's big debate with Damon Beard.
It's a story which is causing outrage on social media. According to ECR Newswatch, three Grade 12 students from Maritzburg College have found themselves in hot water after tweeting a picture of themselves holding branded EFF t-shirts.

The picture stirred up mixed reactions as the messages on them tackle the 'land issue', and they also seem to be breaching social media policies and school code of conduct.
East Coast Breakfast social media law expert, Verlie Oosthuizen, chatted about how important it is for parents to talk to their kids about the repercussions of their actions, and I couldn't agree more.

So often we do things and then face consequences for our actions. Why can't we think before we do? Investigations are currently underway for these three students. I guess we have to wait and see what happens and let the law take its course?
I put a call out to parents to find out their views. I wanted to know if they would be proud of their children fighting for a cause - even if they believed in it or not?
Take a listen to their reactions in the podcast below:
