Any couple's wedding should be the best day of their lives - but for Andrew and Neely, it turned into a complete nightmare!

The pair hired a wedding photographer - a lady called Polito, and had been in communication with her in the weeks leading up to the wedding.

After the big day, the bride wanted to see the pics and soon began pestering Polito for the pictures. They were sent a few proofs from the big day, but the photographer held off sending all of the high-resolution pics for one important reason. The couple had to submit their order form, choose a cover photo for their album, and pay a $125 fee (just over R1,700) for the cover.

The couple wasn't happy with the request as they felt this fee should have been discussed prior to the wedding, but the photographer claimed that the fee was clearly included in the paperwork that they signed before their wedding. It was at this point that they should have just paid the fee and walked away. But no. It got worse for them...

After a few weeks of back and forth banter, Polito decided to simply drop the fee and move on with getting the couple their photos.

Despite the kind act, this didn’t stop the couple from naming and shaming her business on every social media platform and even doing an interview saying that their photos were 'held hostage'. Seriously?!

Polito was not impressed and completely devastated. Her business was nearly destroyed overnight. Many expressed their outrage after reading the review. Polito lost a lot of bookings and had to close her business down - the lowest point for every business owner.

So, what does a business owner do when their business is taken down because of a couple of bullies? Well, you sue them. And that’s exactly what Polito did. Polito slapped them with a defamation lawsuit and won just over $1-million dollars (just over R13-million in damages).

I urge everyone to watch what you put out on social media as it could have awful consequences. Although social media is great to air your views, sometimes your views (or reviews in this case) could land you in hot water - just like this couple.
