Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The family of four KwaZulu-Natal children who were stabbed to death at the weekend say it feels like they are having a bad dream.
The bodies of the 4-year-old girl and her 7, 10 and 12 year-old brothers were found at their KwaNzimakwe home near Port Edward on the south coast on Saturday morning.
It is understood the children had been left at home alone.
While the motive for the murders is not yet clear, the children's ears had been cut off.

Their uncle, Ben Mbhele says it is even more difficult that the children's mother is facing child neglect charges.
"I don't know what is happening because it was the first time I saw everything yesterday. It too difficult, the family is feeling a lot of pain," he said.
A man who was taken in for questioning following the murders has been released.
