Young woman at airport asks, "Anyone looking for a wife?"

Ever cracked a joke in public and instantly thought, "Sheesh, tough crowd."

Just like everyone jumped on Cassper Nyovest's 'hosh karamaima' trend, a young Durban woman is now making waves with her bold airport announcement: she’s ready to be someone’s wife.

While waiting to board her FlySafair flight, Sthandiwe Mazibuko broke the silence with a playful video. As she fixed her hair and addressed fellow travellers, she proudly announced, "If anyone wants a wife, I'm right here."

The spontaneous moment sparked laughter among some passengers, who appreciated the lighthearted break in the usual pre-boarding routine.

Others, however, were less impressed because, of course, social media will always be social media.

“I’m turning 24. I’m just a Zulu girl if anybody wants a wife…” she added, smiling at the camera.

Whether it was her confidence or her charm, her candid approach didn’t land with everyone, but it certainly got people talking.

Many social media users shared their thoughts on the video, saying that her video made them feel awkward. Others felt Mazibuko dragged the joke on for a little too long.

Still, despite admitting she had a “tough crowd”, Mazibuko stood by her actions, unbothered by the critics in her comments or those giving her side-eyes at the airport.

“This was so painful to watch,” one person commented.

On the other hand, another praised her confidence, saying, “You’re the bravest woman on the internet.”

A third added, "I like the guy who entertained her. It was going to be awkward if they just laughed and then kept quiet. This is what good English gives: confidence."

Because some people were annoyed by how long she ran with the joke, we checked in with comedian Rory Petzer to ask if he’d ever experienced a tough crowd.

His response? "I’d love to say there have been many times when I’ve had a really tough crowd, but comedians are not supposed to blame the audience! If they didn’t laugh at your jokes it’s your fault not theirs."

And if you’re wondering how Mazibuko responded to the criticism, here’s what she said to a user who wrote, “Your joke was very long. I’d have been annoyed like the girl behind you. You just kept going on and on.”
