WATCH: UKZN graduates disrupt the stage at their graduation
Updated | By Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
This year, the graduates walking the stage at the UKZN graduation ceremony brought the fire with their dance moves...

Graduating is a huge milestone for many. It signifies a sense of accomplishment and achievement that is considered honourable in many communities.
The University of KwaZulu-Natal describes graduation as "one of the most important occasions in the University’s academic calendar where undergraduate and postgraduate students receive their hard-earned degrees and diplomas. Indeed, graduation marks the culmination of many years of personal sacrifice and hard work that have laid the foundation for successful and inspiring careers."
On the significant day graduates usually don their finest attire and gracefully walk across the stage to receive their accolades. However, this year, the University of KwaZulu-Natal graduates ditched the traditional walk and adopted a celebratory dance on stage instead.
Watch one of the videos posted on TikTok of a graduate who took the opportunity to make a lasting impression during his "walk" across the stage.

This young man's nimble footwork left the crowds screaming with excitement, and many of the honouraries on stage also smiled in enjoyment.
Graduates were seen handing their cards to the Dean, who announced their names. Then, they danced to the Chancellor, where they knelt and received their degree or diploma.
Another student, whose footwork wasn't quite as smooth, saw her taking a tumble on stage (courtesy of TikTok), but that didn't stop her from owning the moment as she picked herself up and continued jubilantly.

Graduates are taking over social media this year with one common thread, a vibrant theme of celebration. In another graduation moment celebrated online, we saw Siya, a McDonald's employee, walk into his place of work in his graduation attire.
He received the most authentic reactions from his co-workers, which left many social media users in good spirits.
