Going grocery shopping used to be mundane for many people, but then the first lockdown happened and going out to the shop became something we looked forward to because it was an outing...

But going out grocery shopping is something that everyone has to do whether they like or not, right? So when we saw this video of a woman in Australia who went out to her local Woolworths store and found a snake slithering out the herbs and spices rack, we had to share it with you...

Could this be the most eventful shopping experience or what? The thing is this isn't even the highlight of the story, the woman who was greeted by the snake, Helaina Alati, wasn't even scared or shocked by it all. Not because it happens often, but because she is a trained wildlife rescuer and is familiar with snakes.

"She retrieved a snake bag from her home, returned to the store, tapped him on the tail and he just slithered in. She then released him away from houses in bushland - a natural habitat for the species around Sydney," BBC News reports.

She said that she suspected the snake had snuck its way onto the shelf and was hiding in the shadows of the shelf as shoppers passed by and grabbed their spices.

We guess he waited for Helaina, perhaps he sensed that she was a friend and would help him get back home or perhaps she speaks parseltongue (the language of serpents in 'Harry Potter').
