A tribute to South Africa and our innate nature of rising above everything comes to life with this powerful song that gets us up and jiving in true Mzansi spirit. The song, 'Bayete Mzansi', was released on Freedom Day with a colourful video.

Goodthingsguy.com revealed that 'this anthem calls the entire nation to come together to take South Africa higher. It forms part of a nationwide movement called “Up We Go Mzansi”, being led by volunteer activists of the DSAC’s Social Cohesion Advocates Programme. The programme’s overall goal is to mobilise society in its entirety to work together to build a caring and proud society based on shared values and a shared vision.'

PJ Powers is known for her use of music to create change and bring about upliftment in communities, so coupled with the Mzansi Youth Choir, they are sure to make this movement magical and truly bring South Africa higher in all senses.

The lyrics of 'Bayete Mzansi' invite all of South Africa to sing in unity: “We are, the power of one, and this is our country, where we belong, this song to you, my brothers, my sisters come sing with me in unity.”

The song, which translates to 'Up We Go Mzansi', calls for all South Africans to come together and join with all that connects us and move South Africa upwards. The sentiment is both inspiring and in the true spirit of what our country is founded on.

Thanks to efforts like these brought forth by the Social Cohesion Advocates Programme (SCAP), powered by the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture (DSAC), we are able to take a step forward in the rejuvenation of our nation.
