A man who's been part of South African sports for more than a decade has finally released his book.
'Gqimm Shelele: The Robert Marawa Story', is the name of his self titled book that has hit the shelves.

The book is a deep dive into the life and rise of South Africa's famous sports broadcaster who has excelled in his life in sport, drama and broadcasting.
According to IOL, the book does also share details how he developed his love of sports broadcasting.
There are also snippets within the book that show, how his mother always recorded sports events for him on tapes and much more.

His charisma, skill, talent, and extensive knowledge have made him the unofficial sports authority in the country.

Sporting her Marawa Sports Worldwide cap, Carol masterfully conducted this incredibly insightful conversation, which revealed some never-before-mentioned secrets about Robert's life.
On life growing up...
Marawa grew up in Vryheid, living a very simple life.
"Growing up in Vryheid, we lived a very simple life. I've never worn these luxury brands. I've never understood that; I don't even wear a watch! We lived a very simple life, so I could never explain to my mother how I bought a pair of shoes worth R60,000!" - Robert Marawa

On his broadcasting career...
"All I wanted to do was broadcasting. The plan with my parents was for me to be a lawyer. I can't share too much because we're working on something that is going to chronicle my life; radio was never meant to be a part of my journey. I always wanted to be on television." - Robert Marawa
A message to young kids...

Robert opened up about some of the threats he's received on his life. We also found out what his thoughts are on the state of our national football team, Bafana Bafana, and whether he would ever coach the team.
Carol and Robert also addressed his health struggles after suffering three heart attacks.
The real bombshell in this interview is when he revealed that he's actually only had two hearts attacks; the third reported attack was actually a threat on his life.
All the details will be revealed in an upcoming book.
