The running funny man, Rory Petzer, and his journey since Comrades

It comes as no surprise to us that once Rory Petzer finished the Comrades, he started thriving even more in the other races in his life.

Headlined as the 'The Running Comic', Rory Petzer goes deep in sharing the snowball effect that finishing the Comrades brought to in his life.

He attributed eating as much food as possible and not chasing the time but focusing on running to finish as the two main elements that helped him cross that finish line.

Rory said that he enjoyed every minute of race day, even though he was uncertain that running 90km was supposed to be that much fun.

When you can identify where you went wrong with your mistakes, that to us shows true growth.

Rory was able to identify why he wasn't able to finish the 2019 and 2022 Comrades and with the support from his partner of eight years, Yoshen, he realised that his health was more important than finishing.

After visiting the doctor the next day, it was revealed that he had a bad sinus infection which caused his crash and burn after over-exerting himself during the first 40km of his run.

Rory admits that when he's not running, comedy and being the producer of the Carol Ofori Show keep him busy.

But it's his dogs Pongo and Benson that own his heart. Whenever he is away from them, he cannot wait to get back to them. He even went on to say, "I don't think that people miss their kids as much as I miss my dogs."
