We bet you didn't know this one thing about Carol Ofori - she has a make-up certification, which basically means that Carol Ofori can now be termed the lady with many talents.

We were delighted to hear that she actually used to do make-up for brides to be and for special events, and thoroughly enjoyed it, too. But due to her schedule, she hasn't been able to continue doing it.

On that note, she has decided to celebrate National Lipstick Day, which is today. There's nothing more important that a pop of colour for many women. The easiest and most common item that can be found in a lady's make-up bag has to be lipstick. And with the range and variation that is now available, it's most likely every girl's go-to make-up item on a rushed day.

We thought it would be cool to look at the history of lipstick. "The first people to wear lipstick were likely Ancient Sumerians. Crushed gemstones decorated not only their lips, but eyes and face as well. Lipsticks in some form also caught on in ancient China with beeswax, and in Ancient Greece, where courtesans wore berry-derived dyes on their lips," reports National Today Website.

Carol Ofori admitted to us that she has a lipstick collection of around 40 shades. And as much as we would have loved to see all her shades, that would've probably taken up a lot of time. Getting the perfect lipstick on can be easy, but if you want it to accentuate your voluptuous lips, there are some tricks...

For a quick DIY lip scrub, that will leave your lips feeling soft, supple, and ready for your chosen shade, use the below recipe:

1 tsp brown sugar (you can use white if you don't have brown, but we have found brown sugar granules are larger so they serve better as a scrub)

1/2 tsp of honey

Few drops of 100% coconut oil (which helps with evening out your lip tone and provides moisture)

Mix all these ingredients together and you can keep any extra in the fridge, for up to a week, then rub on your lips for around a minute or two, and if you have time you can do it for longer.
