@alisunbarrett • H O M E • This was the most challenging yet rewarding milestone we have ever experienced. 10/10 would not recommend to everyone. I have dreamed and prayed about this milestone for many years, not knowing if and when it will happen. God really does hear your prayers and gives you what you ask for when the time is right. We are extremely thankful and blessed to have had each other to lean on but also our friends and family supporting us every step of the way. I want to say, I don't know how I got so lucky to have such supportive people in my life, but that won't be accurate as I prayed for this. By no means is everything perfect but I will continue to be thankful and trust that we will fulfill God's purpose for our lives. One thing we have noticed about South African TikTokers is that they aren't shy to share love for people who share their prosperity online.

Especially people who build their own homes.

One couple who shared their journey of building their home from start to finish got lots of positive comments on TikTok.

Alisun Barrett, the young woman who shared the video, said the following:

This was the most challenging yet rewarding milestone we have ever experienced.

10/10 would not recommend to everyone.

I have dreamed and prayed about this milestone for many years, not knowing if and when it will happen. God really does hear your prayers and gives you what you ask for when the time is right.

What really stood out for us was when she said that surviving building a house with your partner means that you can get through anything.

And that is a true testament to a strong foundation. Check out some of the comments on her post.

Zandile Magastsheni: "Congratulations, it's the greatest feeling ever and makes you realise just how great God is. Reminds me so much of when we built ours in Altona."

@Marurla89: "I have a stand, but no money to build 🤦‍♂️. Maybe I must pop champagne also and my dream house will be done in one day 🤣🤣"

Mooon: "Congratulations... Can you please share what are the pros and cons of buying land and then building your home.. Something I'm looking at too."

To which Alisun responded: "Big Pro: The house is exactly how you want it. Con: It's expensive, stressful and takes time so allot of patience are required."
