KZN man couldn't afford his dream car so he built it

We love this kind of attitude; he didn't have the money to buy the car of his dreams, so he made a plan.

In the above video, we see 22-year-old Thembelani Zondo drive off in his car. A car that he built using recycled material.

"Like many car enthusiasts, he always wanted to get behind the wheel of a turbo-charged sports car. The Bugatti Veyron was Thembelani Zondo's dream but with a price tag of around R18-million, it was out of his reach." (News24)

Most people might use this as a reason to stop them from achieving their dream, but it didn't stop Zondo.

After sharing his dream of building a car with his friends, they didn't believe he could.

“My interest began when I was in grade 4 and I created a small car using wires," he told News24. "It had headlights and a small engine to power it up.”

Building a Bugatti Shark replica was where his dream landed him.

He did not share any videos or plans of his design process on his TikTok page, but said that when creating, he doesn't think too much about planning, and rather he goes with the flow.

"It took Thembelani, who is currently unemployed, a year to build his car using material that he bought from local garages and workshops using his monthly social relief grant. The bottom structure of the car was built using metal rods to give it stability and then wire and zinc sheets were used to create the bodywork." (News24)

His designs are futuristic and his talent is positively inspiring. We hope that he gets sponsored and is able to pursue his passion. Check out the below video he shared of a mechanical hand. Courtesy of TikTok
