It can be difficult to remain positive in the world of business when things don't go as planned.

But as we have learnt from the many, many women that we have encountered, perseverance is a key ingredient to success.

One woman, Andile Mtolo, is proving that to be true as she shared her story on TikTok recently. Having strayed off course to take a punt on her dream, she left university and decided to teach online.

This was a temporary position to acquire enough money to start her business.

However, it wasn't always smooth sailing for her.

She admitted that after she started her cosmetics company, things were not looking good, but thoughts of giving up never crossed her mind.

We think it had a lot to do with her sticking to her vision. She shared that not only did she create vision boards for herself, she also created vision books for all the businesses she would own one day.

One of the things that we think altered her path was the fact that she prepared herself mentally for this journey.

She sought out motivation from a YouTube channel and educated herself about life and having faith. These videos changed her outlook on life.

And sometimes that's what sets apart those who doubt themselves and those who push the door to success open. When she saw things taking a turn left, she decided to use her knowledge of importing from China as a selling point.

We asked Andile to share a motivational quote with us and this is what she shared:

"I would say what Dr. Myles Munroe said because it truly all starts in your head, “You can’t live beyond your thoughts and convictions”.

In other words, it was time to pivot and so she did. She started The Boss Up Ecademy and started her journey as a Business Coach.

Her vision is to help others start and run successful e-commerce businesses. She found her footing and has now held a number of successful masterclasses helping others start their businesses.

All this happened in a space of a year. Let that sink in for a minute. As much as she went through peaks and falls, she didn't give up and is now reaping the rewards.

@andiile_mtolo How did I get here in just one year??? The name of my very first business @Kanea Kosmetics means light (Kanea means light in the Twi language of Ghana 🇬🇭) I started this business on a very small scale, with only R5 000 and 50 lipglosses. I had almost no idea what I was doing but I knew I was willing to learn as much as I could This month marks exactly 12 months since I started my entrepreneurship journey. It started out very slow, filled with unmet expectations and the sad reality of what business truly is like I remember last year December thinking to myself “I have to put this business down for a few months whilst I go back to the drawing board” That decison was very difficult, I loved Kanea Kosmetics with evertything in me and I’d risked it all for it! But I surrendered… Little did I know that that was God’s plan to usher me into starting The BossUP eCademy. The sole motivation behind this coaching business was to create a safe-space for other upcoming entrepreneurs to get help with starting their dream businesses The journey with starting Kanea Kosmetics had been very cold and lonely for me, and I knew I wanted it to be much better for others I started this coaching business with so much fear, but the faith was greater, “What if it does work?” And it absolutely did! The impact this coaching business has had in just 7 months is beyond what I have words for! All I know is that I’m beyond grateful 😭 And as for the You’re Not Alone event, I mean!! 😩 If you’re a female in/ around Durban, we’ve got a date on the 14th of October! We’ll be discussing the highs, the lows, and the in-betweens of our individual journeys and sharing viable solutions to each other’s challenges through great food! 🥂🍝 (peep the flyer to see what else is included in the ticket price 😁) #c#chinesesupplierc#chinamanufacturer#s#shippingagentinsouthafricas#sourcingfromchinas#sourcingtipss#sourcings#sourcingagentchinas#shippingagents#shippingagentinchinas#sourcingtipss#smallbusinesssouthafricas#smallbusinesssouthafrica🇿🇦m#marketingstrategys#smallbusinesstipsm#marketingtipsm#marketingtiktokm#marketingagencym#marketingforsmallbusinessm#marketingtipsandtrickss#salestipss#salesm#marketingsouthafricab#businesstipsandtricksb#businesstipss#smallbusinessowners#smallbusinesssouthafricas#smallbusinesssouthafrica🇿🇦 ♬ Emotional - Bang Nono
