How much do our kids know about Africa? Carol Ofori's challenge for Africa Day!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
A true testament to what our kids know about our continent...
In celebration of the upcoming Africa Day, Carol Ofori and the team have decided to embrace and celebrate all things Africa.
For Africa Day, we want to see how well the kids of KwaZulu-Natal know Africa.
This is basically to inspire the next generation to learn more about our amazing continent.
Basically, the challenge will require parents to record themselves asking their kids, who should be between the ages of 3 and 10, things about Africa.
The questions will be:
- How many countries are there in Africa?
- Which is the smallest African animal?
- How many people live in Africa?
- Which country in Africa is still ruled by a King?
- Who built the pyramids?
- If you saw pyramids where in Africa would you be?
- What is Chad?
- Where is Table Mountain?
- How many languages are spoken in Africa?
- What is the Serengeti?

- Who are the Masai?
- What is the biggest animal in Africa?
- What is Cameroon?
- What is Luganda?
- Where do you wear Kente cloth?
- Who is the president of South Africa?
- What is Ugali?
- Where is Victoria island?
- What is Yoroba?
- Where is Ethekwini?
Remember that this is centred around having fun while learning about Africa, so they don't have to get all the answers correct.

The motivation behind finding out how much KZN kids know about Africa, stems from Carol Ofori's own book series, 'The African Adventures of Sena and Katlego'.
These books explore Carol's passion for the continent of Africa and also inspire children to learn more about each of the African countries covered.
If you would like to participate, simply voice note the audio to 061 792 9495 during Carol’s show so she sees it!
Don’t send your voice note before 09h00 or after 13h00, because Carol won’t see it! Tell us the name and age of your child, too.
