Durban woman warns people to check this before getting into private taxi

There are several things to be wary of when getting into a private taxi, but we bet you didn't think of this.

At some point or another, using a private taxi is necessary.

Whether you use Uber, Bolt or other private taxi services regularly, or you want to be a passenger for the day, when you choose to ride with someone else, you leave your safety in their hands.

Durban content creator, Riona Maharaj, shared what happened to her recently when she used an Uber

Maharaj says she's usually very vigilant when entering an Uber. She makes sure to check the boot and inspect the inside of the vehicle to ensure her safety while travelling.

But this time, she was surprised by something she didn't even factor into her journey.

As she travelled with her Uber driver along the M41 from Durban to Umhlanga, she was surprised when he ran out of fuel. According to Maharaj the driver was unapologetic, and she had to call a friend to pick her up from the side of the M41 where they were parked.

She had never had to check or be aware of this before, but she thought it important to share with others using e-hailing services.

We reached out to Maharaj for comment on what had happened to her, but were unsuccessful. In the video, she said she contacted Uber to let them know what happened to her and did not receive any feedback yet.
