Carol Ofori welcomed Durban GP, Dr Devarshni Reddy, into the studio on Thursday to chat more about the rise in colds, flus, and respiratory viruses.

With the change of season, many people are getting hit from all sides with illnesses. Not to mention the message that is circulating about the return of a varied strain of COVID-19. A trigger word that no one would like to hear about, but Carol Ofori addresses this with the doctor.

Dr Reddy, who is a general practitioner with special interests in diabetes and a diploma in Occupational Health, believes the only way we can achieve wellness amongst people and employees is through education.

Dr Reddy shared that there are several factors to be considered before creating panic and mayhem amongst the people of eThekwini and surrounds.

The truth is that immunity levels have taken a knock in people due to the change of weather, previously having COVID-19, the lack of immunity support by taking vitamins, and the lack of education.

She says that a simple nose rinse is known to clear viruses.

Dr Reddy has provided an insight into the world of colds and flu and her knowledge is priceless.
