Why Abi Ray is going skydiving in her slippers
Updated | By Staff Writer
Abi Ray is taking her support of Reach For A Dream's Slipper Day campaign to new heights - literally. She will be skydiving this Friday to create awareness about the campaign. She says she's scared...
Reach For A Dream is an organization that truly stands out for me. They make the dreams come true for young children with life threatening illnesses.
Slipper Day is their annual day of fundraising where companies or schools or individuals in their own personal capacity can buy a sticker from RFAD for just R10, then wear their slippers to work or school on Slipper Day.
This year we are celebrating on 2 August.
I have been involved with Slipper Day for the past three years as I believe in their cause absolutely and wholeheartedly.
This year, however, I decided to step it up a bit and go big with creating awareness for the day. This is how the idea of me jumping out of a plane came into being. Go big or go home, right?
On Friday 26 July I will be sky diving for Reach For A Dream, in my slippers!
I am completely terrified and might even be in denial... the only way this is going to be worth it is if people buy their stickers and wear their slippers on 2 August!
I urge you to take part in this campaign... please make my dive worth it!
