When an invitation becomes an invoice
Updated | By Rory Petzer
A birthday party 'invitation' has been widely criticised online after racking up over one million views.
The invitation was sent by a one-year-old's mother, and suggests (demands) a number of various gifts.
A gift registry is pretty much par for the course when it comes to weddings, but to send a list of 'preferred' gifts with an invitation to a one-year-old's birthday party is a little cheeky, we think.
The invitation even says, “If you choose...something that isn't on this list...please be sure to always include a receipt going forward. When we return items without receipts, we only get about 50 per cent of the value, so it's like throwing away money if you don't include a receipt with the gifts.”
What do you think? Is this just an acceptable way of letting people know what you need OR is it just plain rude?
