Will we ever know what happened to the Malaysian Airlines plane that vanished over the Indian Ocean on 8 March 2014? The trailer of a movie based on the disappearance of the passenger plane is causing quite a bit of turbulence online.
Would you buy a ticket to watch a movie based on the disappearance of Flight MH370, the missing Malaysia Airlines plane that vanished en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March?
It's a question that's been on the minds of movie critics, Internet users and film producers after a movie trailer was released this week, appearing to explain the reason for the disappearance.
The jury is out on the timing of the release. Some people feel it’s too soon to be focusing on an entertainment piece in the wake of the tragedy.
The movie, called The Vanishing Act, will be based on a Malaysian journalist's theory of what happened to the plane.
The aircraft was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members when it vanished. Officials believe it may have crashed in remote seas far off the west Australian coast, hours after taking off.
An international search in the Indian Ocean is yet to yield results. It’s presumed that everyone on board lost their lives.
Take a look at the movie trailer for The Vanishing Act below.
Do you think it is too soon? When is it appropriate to tackle a tragedy?
