VIDEO: World's heaviest ever firework
Updated | By Rory Petzer
A crowd of approximately 600 000 people watched the world's heaviest ever firework explode at a festival near Tokyo.
Revelers at a festival in Konosu City, Saitama Prefecture (north west of Tokyo) watched more than 15 000 explosions before the world record-breaking finale.
The finale was a rocket weighing in at a whopping 460kg. That's pretty much half a ton!
Roughly translated, the name of the firework was 'Four Feet Ball'.
About 30 seconds into the video below, you'll see the launch of the rocket.
A Guinness World Records official certified the record at the festival, called 13th Kounosuhanabitaikai.
Are you a fan of fireworks? With Guy Fawkes coming up, are you excited at the prospect of all the sparks and bangs?
