VIDEO: Possibly THE Christmas advert of 2014!
Updated | By Rory Petzer
Some of us love them, some of us hate them, but whether we like it or not, we will be inundated with Christmas advertising every year.
Some of it starts as early as September.
And, if we think about it, the majority of Christmas-related TV adverts are pretty much the same: Santa Claus appears somewhere in the ad and families are shown to be happily together enjoying the festive season.
Well, this advert from Sainsbury's in the UK, has received a great deal of attention, as it has none of the above.
It might even make you shed a tear.
According to Sainsbury's, it commemorates the extraordinary events of Christmas Day, 1914, during World War I - when the guns fell silent and two armies met in no-man’s land, sharing gifts – and even playing football together. It was made in partnership with The Royal British Legion.
