VIDEO: Not the Big Swing with Benny
Darren Maule shows us the evidence of Masterchef SA judge Benny Masekwameng deciding he'd rather not master Moses Mabhida's Big Swing. Darren took the plunge, and recorded it for us!
Master Chef judge maybe, but no good at mastering his fears.
I got a chance to cycle the Amashova with the Tourism KZN celebrity team which included, amongst others, master chef Benny Masekwameng.
Part of the weekend's festivities was a swing from the famous Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Some weren't too keen on it, but Benny decided that he would give it a try.
It was only at the top that Benny decided that perhaps this wasn't something he would care to master.
No amount of cajoling or encouraging would get him to jump once he had set his mind to not jumping off.
Eventually I decided to do the jump and film it with my phone camera and I was sure that after showing him the footage, he would relent and take the plunge.
Alas, it was not to be. Master Chef Benny was not gonna rise to the challenge.
It wasn't a complete flop; we now have video evidence that if you can't stand the heat, stay IN the kitchen.
If you watch the video carefully, you'll see his complexion slowly paling to a matt grey...
