VIDEO: Chewing gum and perceptions
Updated | By Rory Petzer
Does chewing gum give a good or bad impression of someone? The immediate answer to that question would usually be the latter. Take Singapore, for instance, where it is even banned in public. This video will surprise you.

Take identical twins. Give one of them chewing gum. Put them beside each other in exactly the same outfits.
Which one of the two is likely to be perceived as the better person?
Which one is likely to be perceived as more trustworthy?
This experiment proves just how shallow we all can be, and how quickly we are prepared to form an opinion of people without a word having been said.
Do you chew gum regularly? Do you realise it has an immediate influence on how you are perceived?
