Trend alert: dyed armpit hair!
Updated | By Staff Writer
There are tons of trends that have come and gone; some which we think are a great idea and we partake in wholeheartedly, and others which we would gladly give a miss.
One of the trends which I will gladly miss and have absolutely no FOMO on is the dying your armpit hair trend.
Yep, ladies are growing their armpit hair and then dying it lots of different colours like blue, pink, yellow, red - etc.
Hair stylist Roxie Hunt initiated the trend, saying it started as a "creative experiment and as a celebration of not only body hair but of all women making conscious and bold decisions for themselves."
Read her manifesto here.
Since then, Twitter and Instagram have been flooded with pics of the 'playful pits', which users have posted using the hash tags #freeyourpits and #dyedpits.
I don't know about you but personally, I really don't like armpit hair.
Yes it's natural and blah blah blah fishpaste fishpaste, but I always associate (women) with armpit hair as un-groomed and for some reason when I see armpit hair, I always think of the stink. I really don't think candyfloss coloured hair is going to make it better.
I will, however, admit that I am human and sometimes I do forget to book a waxing appointment, but when that happens, trust, you will not find me wearing sleeveless tops.
What do you think of this trend? Is this something you would do? Or are you very happy sitting this one out?
Take a look at some of the #freeyourpits pics below:
