Top cop to appear in PMB court for DUI

The man who was set to become Gauteng's new police commissioner is due to appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court today.
Major-Gen Bethuel Mondli Zuma faces charges relating to drunk driving and evading police.
Zuma, 46, who faces four counts for allegedly trying to evade a roving anti-alcohol patrol in 2008, appeared in court yesterday.
The case was adjourned because trial Magistrate Riad Abrahams was on a course.
National police commissioner Riah Phiyega announced Zuma's appointment as Gauteng police commissioner on August 31, but withdrew it when it emerged that he had a case pending against him.
