Things longer than Oscar's Sentence

Judge Thokozile Masipa sentenced Oscar Pistorius to five years in prison for killing Reeva Steenkamp.

If all goes well for the paralympian, he might only serve 10 months.

As expected, Judge Masipa's decision faced immediate scrutiny, with what seems to be a majority (on Twitter, anyway) saying it is far too lenient.

As such, a tongue-in-cheek hashtag #ThingsLongerThanOscarsSentence trended on Twitter within minutes of today's final adjournment.

Some of the tweets doing the rounds are not suitable for family viewing, but we've selected a few (clean) gems for your viewing pleasure below.

But first, The Drive Team would like to add their responses to #ThingsLongerThanOscarsSentence:

Rory:  25 minutes of non-stop music on East Coast Radio.
Damon: The hair on my head.
Mfundo: My attention span.
Dineo: The time I have for these silly games.
Ab: Liverpool's League title drought.
JVB: My speedo.

Please feel free to add your bit to the hashtag. Tag one of us in your Tweet and we just might mention it on air this afternoon.
