The 'normal Barbie' debate
Updated | By Staff Writer
My little Lula, who is two going on 20, has all of a sudden woken up to the Barbie craze.
There has been a lot said about the danger of kids playing with an icon of such unrealistic perfection.
Now artist and researcher Nickolay Lamm has created a Barbie-type doll that's more realistic.
He says his goal was to create a doll that was made to standard human boy proportions.
You can also customise your Lammily Doll with stick-on freckles, acne, cellulite, moles, temporary tattoos, stitches, scrapes and scratches, bruises...and more!
Take a look at this Lammily Fashion Doll next to a Barbie below:
I seem to think let kids be kids, however I think that a doll that depicts real life is a breath of fresh air.
But in saying that, do I now want to start chats with my sweet little Lula about acne, weight, stretch marks and scars?
Take a look at how these kids respond to new 'Normal Barbies'.
What do you think: let art imitate life, or let kids be kids?
