The Drive finds a Picasso!
Updated | By Jason
You know when you buy something and then somehow it makes its way into the cupboard, garage, attic etc. – not to be seen for years… only to be rediscovered by you during that spring clean?
Well I bet you will be scrounging around grandma’s house after hearing about what happened in Amsterdam recently. This private art collector thought this painting done by Vincent van Gogh was a fake…
The Van Gogh museum called it a fake and as a result he chucked it into his attic.
But after looking at the pigmentation, and studying letters written by the master – it turns out the art is original and real…
And probably worth milllllllions!!!
(Above: "Sunset at Montmajour", which shows twisted holly oaks and a distant ruin bathed in the light of the setting sun, was painted in 1888 when Van Gogh was living in Arles, in the south of France)
Surely you have found something after a long time and it has turned out to be worth a lot of money? No? me neither…
But we did find this picture in the Drive closet earlier this morning and believe it to be an early original and REAL Picasso.
It even has a signature of the master at the bottom!!
Should we have it valued?
