The best South African Christmas carol
South Africa finally got its very own Christmas Carol. Get ready for the 12 Days of Christmas, South Africa style!
A lot of Christmas carols are based around having a white Christmas: snow and cold and almost everything that doesn't exist over a South African Christmas.
Our Christmas' are based around the braai and the beach, so much so, that we tend to have thousands of 'Vaalies' travelling down to our beautiful coast.
I found this version of a South African 12 Days of Christmas.
Imagine us adopting this at carol services!
Instead of belting out "And a partridge in a pear tree" we would sing "And a hadeda in a tree"...hahaha...I think let's stick to the original, but it's good for the laugh anyway.
