Updated | By tanstan fourie
This past Sunday marked exactly the 50 Year anniversary of the Beatles performance on 'The Ed Sullivan Show' - the legacy of the Beatles lives throughout pop music still today.
It's one of the biggest milestones in musical history.
On 9 February, 1964, the Beatles took the stage for their very first live television performance in America.
The Fab Four had already earned a place on the music charts in Britain, but many in America had no idea who this relatively unknown musical group was, called the Beatles.
After their performance at The Ed Sullivan show 50 years ago they become an instantaneous hit amongst the nation’s youth.
“The Beatles were one of the most profound influences on songwriting – ever,” says Bonnie Hayes
Darren still believes the Beatles are one of the most influential and iconic bands ever to grace our airwaves.
