Sisterly love shines through
Updated | By Jason
Mia wrote in to the Big Favour to ask for assistance to make her younger sister's birthday a memorable one.
Take a look at the letter she wrote to us:
"My little sister (Charlize) lost her mom to Cancer 3 months ago, after a 2 year battle with ovarian cancer. The Cancer had spread and we lost Mom 29 November 2013. My little sister is crushed. My fiance and I have been trying to help my dad carry on with his life as a new single father, but things have been tough. He is struggling to afford basic things, like house rent, school fees and sometimes food. My fiance and I have been helping where we can, but there is only so much we can do. My sister had her first birthday without her mom on the 17th February, and we were unable to make her feel special. She had a tough tough day. I was appointed as her guardian and I have no clue how to raise a teen, I myself has just turned 22. If you could help with anything, that we can do to make my sister feel better or even my dad, that would be most appreciated."
Thanks to The Spa on Fairway (www.healthspa.co.za) and Ocean Ventures (www.oceanventures.co.za) for making Charlize's dream come true!
And of course thank you to Esme for her amazing Big favour Birthday cake!
