The Big Favour helps Andrea, 18
Michelle wrote in to the Big Favour to tell us about Andrea who has a rare disease called Retts Syndrome.
Andrea cannot a feed herself and uses adult diapers, has a caregiver and is on various medicines costing the family a fortune every month.
Andrea cannot talk but she has the most beautiful smile.
Andrea has gotten too big for her wheelchair now and it is difficult due to finances for her family to buy a new one - or even secondhand one.
Even through Andrea can’t talk, she's got the most beautiful smile and loves taking long walks on Durban’s promenade.
She enjoys the sea breeze and giggles when she has an outing.
It is rather difficult now to walk with her in her wheelchair because the seat belt is broken and Andrea has also become too big for it.
Unfortunately she recently fell out her wheelchair and lost her front teeth.
We knew we had to get involved, and thanks to generous donors, have been able to give Andrea a brand new state-of-the-art wheelchair.
