PHOTOS: Motorist caught in Overport flooding
Updated | By Staff Writer
Overport motorists have urged eThekwini officials to repair a manhole in Overport as it causes flooding during heavy rainfall.

Laven Naidoo, who works for a trucking company in the area, says every time it rains in the area a section of York Place is flooded and vehicles are unable to pass until the water subsides.
He says whenever it rains heavily storm water officials have to called in to drain the manhole on the side of the road.
Naidoo says they have been complaining for years for the hole to be repaired but not much has been done.
A motorist's car was partially submerged when the driver underestimated the depth of the water.

Meanwhile, the Durban CBD was also flooded after a violent downpour yesterday.
Shoppers and pedestrians were forced to run for cover. See the pictures below.
