This photo of a grieving doctor is heart-breaking

A paramedic snapped this photo of an ER doctor moments after losing a 19-year-old patient in California. The photo, which was shared on Reddit, shows a doctor stepping outside a hospital and taking a moment to gather himself. 

I can't imagine the trauma of losing anyone really close to me and can imagine that time speeds up and slows down in unison. 

That feeling where your stomach turns to ice and you want to collapse and be sick. As terrifying as that loss is can you imagine being the bearer of that news?

I reckon this type of job must be so stressful and emotionally draining. Yes there are the truck loads of victories but having to walk out into a waiting room of family to deliver such final and sometimes sudden news must be soul destroying. 

This is such a powerful image and shows such the grief and vulnerability.
