Natarah's FITballers: Brazil vs Colombia
Updated | By tanstan fourie
If you’re a football fan, you can finally leave the house tonight. Players at the World Cup are being given a break today which means there’ll be no games played at the tournament. Don’t worry though, the soccer spectacular will return tomorrow with two matches in the evening.
The FITballers we’ve selected from those fixtures are Brazil’s Givanildo Vieira de Souza commonly known as Hulk and Colombia’s James David Rodríguez Rubio.
Brazil – ‘Hulk’
The 27-year-old was born Vieira de Souza.
He has been nicknamed ‘Hulk’ after the comic book character. The Brazilian star says the name came from his dad.
He says as a child, he loved comic book characters. When he played soccer, his father always encouraged him by saying, “go Hulk!”
Colombia – James Rodríguez
The 22-year-old winger also plays for French club AS Monaco.
He moved to Monaco with a transfer fee of 45 million euros, making him the second most expensive Colombian player in history.
James caught the world’s attention after scoring three goals in Colombia's three group games.
His surname Rodriguez is a common Spanish surname meaning, "son of Rodrigo."
No matches tonight but you can look forward to the Round of 16 matches set to get underway tomorrow evening:
