MasterChef’s Chris Forrest heading to Durbs!
When I watched the first episode of Celebrity MasterChef, I said to my mum, “Shame, they had to put the comedian in there just for some laughs. I doubt he’ll last more than two weeks!”
Boy, was I wrong! Since the show began on 8 February, Chris has been turning out wonderful dishes, despite the rocky start.
Darren and I caught up with the funny cook this week to find out whether he thinks he’ll win the MasterChef apron.
We also found out he’s coming to Durban next week. He’s bringing his one-man comedy show Who’s Your Daddy? to our part of the world. Whoop whoop!
We asked Chris a few questions about his latest offering which focuses on parenthood.
So, Chris tell us a bit about Who’s Your Daddy?
It’s almost like a comedic survival guide dealing with everything from childbirth to becoming a dad. So, I focus on the pregnant wife, childbirth and the first few months of being a dad. Everything that I speak about in my show is based on truth, true stories that have happened to me. You’ll certainly know a lot more about things, especially things they don’t tell you about in the book.
It’s been more than eight weeks since Celebrity MasterChef began and Chris is still the kitchen. When did is passion for cooking begin?
I was never particularly cooking inclined but I just really loved the MasterChef show and there were a few things I could cook. I just wanted to be on the show and raise money for charity. Now that I’ve been honoured, I am learning a lot, all the way through. So, hopefully I keep getting better.
How far do you think you’ll go in MasterChef?
Everyone who’s left in the competition is fantastic. I’ve really got my work cut out if I want to beat any of them.
