Local karatekas shine in Japan
Updated | By Staff Writer
KwaDukuza has become a force to reckon with in karate.

Today we on the East Coast flew the national flag with pride as we welcomed a team of KwaDukuza karatekas back home from Japan.
The eight karate fighters last week departed on a journey to Tokyo to compete in the Kyokushin IKO Karate Tournament that is hosted by the home of the International Karate Organisation (IKO) - Japan - every 10 years.
The team of karatekas landed in South Africa this morning and Sensei Senzo Gumede 4th Dan and Sempai Mzwandile Zondi popped in to East Coast Radio for a chat with Makhosi Khoza.
The two were accompanied by the KwaDukuza deputy mayor Dolly Govender.
