KZN sjambok suspect appears in court
Twenty-two-year-old, Amahle Mdlalose, who appeared in the Nquthu Magistrates Court yesterday, has been charged with assault and intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The video, which went viral last week, shows the distressed teenager being lashed repeatedly for more than 10 minutes.
She was accused of seducing her attacker's boyfriend.
The NPA's Nathi Mncube says they are still looking at the possibility of bringing more charges against Mdlalose.
"The matter was postponed for the accuse to apply for legal aid. We will be looking into the evidence to decide whether we should add further charges," he said.
