Kelly welcome at funeral, says Meyiwa family
The family of slain soccer star Senzo Meyiwa has had a change of heart, saying that his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo is after all welcome at his funeral.
Beeld reported today that Kelly Khumalo is welcome after all at the funeral of her boyfriend Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain Senzo Meyiwa.
"Parents say many things when they are upset," said Meyiwa family spokesperson Siyabonga Meyiwa, after the football star's father Sam initially banned her from the funeral.
According to Siyabonga Meyiwa the family would also like the goalie's children to be present, including his child with the singer and actress.
Senzo was killed in a shooting at Kelly's family's home in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, on Sunday night.
The footballer was married to Mandisa Mkhize.
My heart soars at this news that Kelly and her child are welcome, after all. No child should suffer at the mercy of its parents’ actions, relationships or choices. Instead of throwing rocks, let's unite.
